National No Car Horn Day
or
National Day of Quiet
Walking through the streets of any big city is annoyingly loud. Car horns are a major culprit and they’re mostly useless. So I had this thought, “How amazing would it be if all the drivers in NYC didn’t use their car horns for one day?”
And then I thought, “Realistically, it would never happen. But! I’ll bet this could be a good publicity stunt for a taxi cab company. It’s something the media would talk about and bring attention to whoever started it.”
And then I thought, “This would be a great publicity stunt for Uber.com.”

I wish we could have a National No Car Horn Day here in Jerusalem. That would be quite the event. It would help a lot with the noise pollution. A day without honking would make my walking commute to work a lot quieter too. But I think a lot of drivers would go into shock from the deprivation as horn honking is a national pastime here.
hehe, it’s a national pastime in every nation ;)
