Note: I’ve just launched this idea to the public! Check out ListyListy.com for my Amazon Wish List Price Drop Notifier.
I use Amazon’s Wish List feature often. My “Wish List” isn’t a I wish somebody would buy this for me list. It’s where I store all the book recommendations I get. As of this writing there are 217 items on my list. I’d guess 216 of them are books. I read/buy books as fast as I can, but that list grows anyway.
Why don’t I get an alert when a book is on sale? Add this feature and I would instantly buy any book on my Wish List any time it becomes a Daily Deal, and I’d likely buy others that were simply discounted to a lower price than when I added them, depending on the discount.

Great idea (more like a big “duh” for Amazon). I too would buy more books that way. My wish list has 328 books in it. Another thing that would be nice is a search feature so I can quickly find something in my wish list. It would also be nice when I’m looking at a book’s product page, if there was a nice obvious button (graphic, ribbon, star, whatever) that indicated whether this was already in my wish list (kinda like how Netflix tells you whether a movie is already in your queue). I guess that’s how I use Amazon’s wish list, like a book queue. Too bad Amazon doesn’t have to innovate much anymore (at least in their e-commerce dept.)
Hey Chris, http://www.listylisty.com – just created this. Still haven’t publicly released it, but it’s usable so please sign up. :)
