Gary Vaynerchuk recently posted a video straight from the hip, heart, and head. In it he talks about DNA and how he’s successful not only because of hustle, but because he doesn’t know how to be anything except successful.
You?
You don’t have it.
You don’t have that DNA.
You’ve never hustled.
You didn’t grow up with the right opportunities.
You think growing up with opportunities matters.
You don’t know how to take currently available opportunities.
You complain a lot.
You don’t see the big picture.
You might have a map, but you’re really bad with directions.
You expect handholding. “Oh if only someone would show me how …”
You think you’re entitled to rewards.
You place blame on others instead of taking control and figuring out what went wrong.
You half ass projects and say they’re failures.
You rarely, if at all, launch projects in the first place.
You’ve never failed.
You don’t seek specified knowledge.
You buy a lot of information – courses, webinars, seminars, conferences – and let it all go in one ear and out the other.
You haven’t learned the very basics of doing work online.
You think “I’m not a techie” is a good excuse.
You haven’t learned the slightest bit about how a real business works.
You don’t enjoy producing content.
You’ve never studied classic marketing or sales literature.
You’ve never written an advertisement.
You’ve never made a sales call and expect to make thousands of dollars in sales overnight.
You waste a lot of time on things that don’t matter and then whine that you don’t have enough time to do the things that do.
You spend your free time thinking about doing something.
You tell anyone who will listen what you’re going to do.
You never do anything.
If you hate me now, it’s only because that was true.
Make it false.

Can’t say I hate you now, but this did give me a good laugh! Nothing like a swift kick in the ass to start the day… :)
Karol,
I love it! And, I *have* it:) Don’t always use it, but I know that. When I do use it, it’s golden..thanks for the reminder!
Hahahaha I so needed this :D thanks ya
Yes. It just means I have to push all the more harder to make it happen. I am making it happen.
Fantastic reminder that it’s all my responsibility, and the main reason I get stuck sometimes is because I let myself slide back into old habits. Needed this; thank you!
Damn if you don’t go right for the jugular! Thanks Karol, no hate here. It’s great to hear (read) what one needs to hear sometimes. Time to make it false.
Hate you! Love you! Thanks for putting it out there!
A good wake up kick ;)
Karol,
I would think walking away 16 years ago from a decent job, moving to a foreign country where English isn’t the major spoken language and learning how to cope with a new culture should count for something, even just a little hustle.
But, your post is great because it reminds me of what I have done and what I have the potential to go on and do.
More hustle! Pour it on!
Karol…fantastic. Give us a hug.
The applications of your post far outreach internet marketing. Everyone can (and should) apply them as simple lessons in life.
Keep em comin’
Wow. Have you been spying on me?
I’m setting this site as my LeechBlock “blocked” site.
Thanks for the kick, Karol. Again. :)
Nothing like a good swift kick on a Monday morning when ya need it most. Thanks for the “gentle” reminders
Yeah…that is true….I don’t have it in me, but I decided to change my DNA right now.
I knew you were smart – a mind reader also….!? :)
got me where it hurts – thank you (I think)

Haven’t you heard? I’m a professional psychic. Dial 595-ESCAPE.
I enjoyed Adelaide back in 2009. Good, underrated, city.
Just stumbled across your website. I’d say this is probably me right now:-
“You buy a lot of information – courses, webinars, seminars, conferences – and let it all go in one ear and out the other” and “You spend your free time thinking about doing something”
Yup and time’s a ticking!!
Thanks – i may have to print this email out. Like you I call a ‘spade a spade’ and have always considered it to be a great strength – in my late teens I overheard my dad say I will go far in life because of it – and i was proud. Recently though I read an article on-line (or via a similar form of media) wherein a commentator or some form of specialist (specialising in what i cant remember) actually said that knowing when to bend the truth is a good indicator of intelligence. I generally say nothing at all in when encountered these awkward situations – apart from nod my head in support or sympathy, rather than having to say something i don’t believe in. I’m starting to wonder – am lacking the adequate brain power as alluded to in this article!?haha To a child I could of course tell a white lie, in a positive manner, but not to an adult.
Anyhow – I take this with a pinch of salt but would like to know your thoughts, as browsing through your website, truth and honesty seems to be a recurring theme. And i’ll not lie :) – the article did bug me a bit.
Hey Catherine,
I don’t have enough brain power to decide whether you have enough brain power. If you say you don’t have it in you then you are right. It’s up to you.
Karol
Hi Karol,
First time here and I have to applaud this list. After I realized that I create my own reality I had to have a good hard look at it and see what was going on with that. I found I was doing MANY of the things on this list. But, being conscious of it makes us knowingly responsible for the whole thing.
